what is your best money-saving strategy?

just wondering, because i have found some great ideas lately

I only use one side of each sheet of toilet paper. It may not seem like a lot of savings, but over years I have saved up a roll of cash. I am not rich, but I am pretty flush. I have a real handle on my economic future, even if the stock market should plunge. This idea might not bowl you over, but it does work. I have seen a lot of friends’ futures go down the toilet because they didn’t save.

Well the best strategy is to not buy what you can’t afford. Credit kills most people. So I told myself from the beginning that I would always pay my credit card bill in full every month. NEVER pay the minimum payment only. Once you realize you are paying in full, you just can’t allow yourself to overspend.

Buy food that’s under $1 and fill the cars gas tank up once a week. I spend around $100.00 a month on food, gas and smokes.

I withdraw a certain amount at the beginning of the week, and that’s all I’m allowed to spend during the week. That way, I have to really think it through before I buy something.

About once a year I go to bank and put 5k in a CD. I borrow 5k against it and have the payments come out of my checking account every month. I really dont notice it cause the kids spend all my money anyway. The CD matures and wow, its like I found a free 5K. Then I buy something for me.
