Can anybody give me some clever ways to save money?
I am a stay at home mom and I am planning a vacation for next February. I don’t want to just ask my husband for all the money. What are some ways I can save or earn money, any ideas? THanks
Save on food by clipping coupons and doing more cooking rather than buying expensive preprepared meals.

can you babysit with someones children for an evening. Maybe you could mow lawns while your husband watches for kids. you could work at a call center for a brief period of time to make a little money. Have a garage sale to get rid of stuff you don’t need anymore. Or if the stuff is more valuable but it on ebay. Don’t buy anything you don’t need. Put all of your change in jar.

Most everyone can find ways to cut back on something and put that money in the bank. Don’t buy that pack of gum, or that lipstick you don’t need or that soda from McDonalds. It adds up. Use coupons at the grocery store and keep track of how much you save and sock it away in the bank. There is not really alot you can do on the computer to make tons of money. Just be creative in ways to save but don’t spend what you save.

You could Ebay or sell items on Craig’s List. Maybe babysitting, garage sale, recycling. How about couponing?

The above is a great source for printable coupons. Next continue to buy Sunday’s paper for another source of manuf. coupons.
Some stores like Walgreens, Rite Aid, Target will take their store coupon and a manuf. coupon.
Know that sometimes you can buy groceries at the above store.
Get to know your grocery store coupon policies…do they double coupons? Buy groceries on sale with your coupons.
http://www.mycoupons.com Click on Shopping boards, Click on Tips of the Trade (TOT) you’ll find postings from women who spend very little out of pocket for groceries. Also go to "The Smart Traveler" you can find $ saving tips to your vacation destination.
Sometimes you can go to the company of a product you want to purchase and see if there are printable coupons on that site.
Other sites you might want to view are:

How about joining http://www.mypoints.com? You can earn "money" by turning in your points onto gift cards. You sign up and receive emails which are worth about 5 pts each. It can be time consuming but by next Feb. you could have a least a $50 gc.

Make jewelry. its really quiet easy to make or you can loan your money to relatives you know that you can trust and have them pay you back one month before february comes around. I did that before and it worked out beautifully. they paid me with their tax refund in january

First I think you have to be very clear on how much you need for the vacation. Really drill down on the numbers – how much will the place you stay cost, the travel expenses (driving, flying, on the train – include meals, snacks, parking), attactions you want to visit etc. Now take that number and multiply it by 1.2 (adds 20%) so you have a little wiggle room. Take that number and, I know this is gonna sound corny, but make a thermometer that goes that high, with $ ticks on it. Create a place to collect the funds (account/jar) whatever is safest. Everytime you divert money you would have spent on other things to the vacation fund, color in the representative ticks. If you recycle cans/bottles, babysit, make dinner instead of going out, bank that saved/earned money. You might be really surprised how quickly you save up the money for the vacation.
Good luck.
